She sat upon her sheltered bale,

Free from flood and free from gale,

But nothing ever happened then,

In days that never come again.

I saw her there one autumn day,

Or shall I say I came her way,

I saw her beauty even then,

In days that never come again.

Her life was such, she didn't care,

She felt it slip and leave her there,

Decided there to stay for then,

In days that never come again.

I'm free, I'm free, she said to me,

Her eyes were filled with love and glee,

No memories more of there and then,

In days that never come again.
